Established in 1979, IAPA has more than 200 member firms with offices in some 70 countries. Based on its members' total revenues:

IAPA is among the top 25 global accounting organisations and the top 10 associations of independent accountancy firms, with an annual turnover of more than one billion dollars.

Each IAPA member is an independent firm controlled or owned by people who have internationally recognised accounting qualifications. Admission to IAPA is subject to rigorous eligibility criteria and when joining the association, each member firm undertakes to maintain IAPA's high standards of professionalism and integrity.

IAPA connections

IAPA maintains close relations with IFAC, the International Federation of Accountants, and is a member of EGIAN, the European Group of International Accounting Networks and Associations.
EGIAN membership is made up of more than 20 truly global organisations that offer audit, accounting and business advisory services.

EGIAN provides a forum for its members to develop common positions on specific technical and legislative issues and to discuss these issues with the major professional and regulatory stakeholders, such as the European Union, CESR (Committee of European Securities Regulators), FEE (Federation of European Accountants) and IFAC (International Federation of Accountants).
